WOW! There really aren’t the right words to do this novel justice. This is the first book I have read by this author, but I promise it won’t be the last. The way this story was told was powerful, heart-warming and heart-wrenching. There were a few moments of pure joy and then a few of pure sobbing.

I wish I could have finished it all in one sitting because it was that good, but I’m glad I dragged it out a little just because I was able to really delve deeper into the story. It’s difficult to write this review without giving away significant parts of the story, but in just a simple few words: EVERYONE. SHOULD. READ. THIS. BOOK!!!

I enjoyed the mystery of the Shadow. I felt everything for Jordan. I wanted vengeance and hated the bad guys. I loved Monte as well. Let’s just put it simply, this was definitely a character driven story and I’m so, so glad I got to read it.
