The Simple Man series by Lani Lynn Vale captivated me from the moment I started reading!! This book is fast paced and will have you flipping the pages to find out what happens next. I am hooked and cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

We have known Raphael Luis aka ‘Rafe’ for quite some time now. That is if you have read some of Lani Lynn Vale's other books. If you have not, Lani did a great job at keeping this book a standalone so you would not be lost.

But for me, this man had intrigued me for many books now. His intensity and broodiness drove me bonkers book after book and now I know why!

“I’m a simple man, Janie. I’m a man that lives hard. I’m a man that plays hard. And I’m a man that loves you.”

My man Rafe had been through hell over the years. He has spent his entire life trying to right the wrongdoings of his father and never felt like he has mattered to anyone. That is until his girl Janie storms into his life and turns his world upside down in the best of ways to prove to him that he did matter. He mattered to her.

“Jesus, the man was sex personified. He was everything that I shouldn’t want, and the one thing that I really needed all rolled into a perfect ball of badass.”

Janie had been in love with Rafe since before she was of legal age. This girl knew that she wanted and knew that one day she would finally have him. I loved her character. Janie did not mess around. This girl spoke her mind and fought for herself and her man.

I’m a married mother of three. My kids are all under 5, so I can assure you that they are a handful. I’ve been with my paramedic husband now for ten years, and we’ve produced three offspring that are nothing like us. I live in the greatest state in the world, Texas.
